Texas Tech Red Raiders Secure Commitment from Kaston Lewis

The Texas Tech Red Raiders have made a significant addition to their 2027 recruiting class with the commitment of Kaston Lewis, a highly-rated safety from Iowa High School in Louisiana. Lewis, a 4-star prospect and the top-ranked safety in his state, chose Texas Tech over other contenders, including Big 12 rival West Virginia and SEC opponent Arkansas. His decision comes after a strong recruitment process, where he felt prioritized by the coaching staff from the very beginning. Lewis has been in regular contact with the Texas Tech coaches, strengthening their bond throughout the recruitment phase. As a junior, he showcased his versatility on the field, amassing 848 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns while also contributing defensively with 53 tackles and six interceptions. Lewis is the second defensive back to join the Red Raiders' 2027 class, following Gideon Gash's commitment earlier this month. This commitment continues Texas Tech's trend of securing top defensive talents, which will be crucial for their future success in the Big 12 conference.
